Ghost Squad Coming to the Wii (with Online Functionality!)

May 10, 2007

Ghost Squad is coming to the Wii, it will be an “enhanced” port with online functionality (leader-boards supposedly) and a number of Wii specific modes.

With the Wii remote’s pointer, it’s the best-suited console for lightgun games, unless somebody decides to make a periphrial for the 360 or PS3 that supports all modern TVs (traditional lightguns only work with CRTs).

Virtua Tennis 3 First Native 1080p Xbox 360 Game

February 10, 2007

While the Xbox 360 can upconvert any of it’s games to 1080p, non have ever been natively rendered at that res. Virtua Tennis 3 is set to be the very first game on that system to be rendered natively in 1080p, similar to the PS3 version. Great job, Sumo Digital!

UPDATE: Smelly ‘ol EA have tried to take away Virtua Tennis’  1080p thunder by announcing that the upcoming NBA Street game on 360 will be the first 1080p game. VT3 is still going to be 60fps though while EA’s game is at 30fps.

Dynamite Deka EX Impressions, Pics and a Vid!

December 12, 2006

Alex Kierkegaard, who runs the fantastic site, was nice enough to point me to his great write-up about his playtest of Dynamite Deka EX. Thanks Alex!
He’s also got a number of pictures and a vid of the game in action.

After Burner Climax Wallpaper

I was taking a look at the official Japanese site for After Burner Climax and I found some neat wallpaper. Being a sucker for official video game wallpaper I just had to link to it here.

Out of Nowhere, New Dynamite Deka!

November 26, 2006

One of the best beat ’em ups series out there, Dynamite Deka, a game you might have known as Die Hard Arcade, is getting a new addition to it’s series!

A play-test unit has appeared out of nowhere at SEGA Club Akihabara, and it’s called Dynamite Deka EX.

Although there’s no info or images on the game, just the fact that a sequel exists is great news. And despite all SEGA’s faults in recent years, their arcade games have been anything short of golden.

New Arcade Lightgun Game, 2 Spicy

November 1, 2006

Sega’s released pics and opened the official site to a new lightgun game, 2 Spicy (insert reaction of choice to the name).

The game’s concept seems interesting. It’s a VS based lightgun game. You have two pedals on the floor to control left and right movement, and you hide behind cover (which can be destroyed) by aiming the gun off screen.

I’d personally like to see lightgun games on the Wii. With the remote’s lightgun-like handle attachment, which has an analog stick on it (similar to d-pad on Sega’s Dreamcast Lightgun), it would work well with this game. In fact, it would work well with any lightgun game.

Also, it’s worth noting that Sega are working on an unamed lightgun for the Wii. Could this be it?
