New Arcade Lightgun Game, 2 Spicy

Sega’s released pics and opened the official site to a new lightgun game, 2 Spicy (insert reaction of choice to the name).

The game’s concept seems interesting. It’s a VS based lightgun game. You have two pedals on the floor to control left and right movement, and you hide behind cover (which can be destroyed) by aiming the gun off screen.

I’d personally like to see lightgun games on the Wii. With the remote’s lightgun-like handle attachment, which has an analog stick on it (similar to d-pad on Sega’s Dreamcast Lightgun), it would work well with this game. In fact, it would work well with any lightgun game.

Also, it’s worth noting that Sega are working on an unamed lightgun for the Wii. Could this be it?

Like you said this could be perfectly realized on the Wii with it’s intuitive controls and lightgun attachment. So hey, could you inform me briefly what the premise of this game is other than shoot the bad guys? To be honest I hadn’t heard of this title before.

  2. Well actually I don’t know much about it. It seems though that it’s 1 on 1, and you use the pedals to move between objects you take cover behind. There seems to be special shot too.

I played this yesterday at an arcade in Sakae, Nagoya.
I was only able to try out the one on one one player mode (which was 100 yen a credit. Story Mode was 200 yen a credit!) but it was pretty fun.
There’s two machines facing each other, and I imagine it would be pretty fun in two player mode.
Some weapons seem to be able to knock you over, and when that happens you frantically tap on the pedal to get up and roll either left or right to get behind cover.
I thought it was pretty easy though. Although I lost the odd round (best 2 out of 3) I got up to the Japan stage (about stage 6 I think) on my first go and 1 credit.
It seems designed more for 2 players though, and I haven’t tried out the story mode yet.

  6. i played it in timezone here in the philippines. i loved it! and i was the only girl that i saw (i saw myself? haha) playing it. i simply love every bit of it! but im sure it will be better if the have a character card or something so points can be earnec. 🙂
